Yona Sophia Jutzi is a sought-after piano partner with an interactive and passionate style of playing and a delicate sense of sound.
She is a prize winner of various competitions and is supported by the Deutschlandstipendium, by the Walter Kaminsky Foundation and by the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz. Both as a soloist and, above all, as a chamber musician, she has given concerts throughout Germany and abroad, for example in France, Italy, Finland and Switzerland.
The pianist received her first piano lessons at the age of six and was taught at the Peter-Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz as well as at the Moores School of Music (Houston, Texas). She studied Bachelor and Master Piano as well as Master Piano Chamber Music with Prof. Thomas Hell, Prof. Sae-Nal Lea Kim and Prof. Boris Kusnezow. She is currently completing her studies in the Meisterklasse with Prof. Boris Kusnezow at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig. She received further musical impulses from Elisabeth Leonskaja, Alfred Brendel, Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet) and Eberhard Feltz, among others.
In 2021 she founded the Davidoff Piano Trio, which is currently taught by Prof. Thomas Hoppe at the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen as well as by Emanuel Wehse (Morgenstern Trio). In November 2021, the Davidoff Trio emerged as a prize-winning ensemble of the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition. Since then, regular invitations to concerts in Germany, Italy and Switzerland have followed, and the trio has so far performed at the Brixen Classics Festival, the Schleswig-Hostein Musikfestival, the Musikdorf Ernen Festival and the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, as well as at numerous concert series. Concert recordings of the Davidoff Trio have been broadcast internationally on radio several times, most recently on SRF-Kultur. The trio was awarded the annual prize of the Freunde junger Musiker Kassel in 2023 and is sponsored by the Walter Kaminsky Foundation. In 2024, the ensemble received the Classical Music Scholarship from the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation, as well as 3rd prize at the international Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award.
Yona Sophia Jutzi is co-founder of ClubClassix and artistic director of the innovative concert series “Konzerte im Nirgendwo”, supported by the #MusikerZukunft scholarship from the Deutsche Orchesterstiftung, among others. Early on in my musical education I developed a great passion for piano chamber music and have since made it the focus of my pianistic work. In 2021, together with Johannes Wendel (violin) and Christoph Lamprecht (cello) I therefore founded the Davidoff Trio. Since then, we regularly got invitations to recitals and festivals throughout Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
Since October 2023 we have been studying chamber music for permanent ensembles together at the Folkwang University of the Arts with Prof. Thomas Hoppe.

Since 2024, I have been the founder and artistic director of an innovative concert series in Mainz: the Konzerte im Nirgendwo combine texts and music from several centuries to create a very special program in a varied musical and literary interplay. Three concerts with changing line-ups will take place in the popular Mainz bar "Nirgendwo", which will also provide the audience with culinary accompaniment during the events. Each evening will follow a currently socially relevant theme, which will be explored in various chamber music and text contexts. After the concert, a get-together in the “Nirgendwo” bar offers artists and audience the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other and provides space for conversations and discussions.
Konzerte im Nirgendwo is a concert series with the overarching aim of opening up established concert structures, inspiring new target groups for classical music and bringing together top-class musicians from the regional classical and jazz scene and the people of Mainz.
> Concerts in January / March / May 2025
> Sponsored by the Deutsche Orchester Stiftung, the Strecker-Stiftung Mainz and the Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium Mainz

The Schaumburger Schlosskonzerte were founded in 2022 by Prof. Boris Kusnezow and myself in cooperation with the Kulturverein Bückeburg and bring internationally renowned and outstanding instrumental soloists to the Schaumburger Land on five concert evenings.
In addition to artistic excellence, the focus is on engaging and opening up a broad audience of all age groups, because it is no secret that in order to preserve the classical concert genre, intensive work with young musicians and experimentation with new concert formats is essential. Opera houses, philharmonic orchestras and music schools have been making efforts for several years to open up access to classical music to a wider audience. But I am certain that this is not enough; the initiatives must also come from the musicians themselves. The education of a new audience is not only relevant for the preservation of musical culture, but also necessary if the music profession is to be maintained. As a young pianist at the beginning of her concert career, it was therefore a great concern and my initiative to conceptualize this concert series in such a way that it contributes to the continuation of classical music culture and brings people of all ages closer to classical music through shared experience.
In addition to project management, I therefore take on the responsibility and direction of music education at the Schaumburger Schlosskonzerte. During visits to the Adolfinum Gymnasium in Bückeburg, I introduce our concert programs to the students and enable them to have a direct exchange with our artists in an interactive lesson. I also lead the artist talks with the soloists, which, integrated into the concert event in the evening, strengthen the personal connection with the audience and help to approach the pieces in a new way.

"Preserving music culture. Promote top talent."
The International Music Academy for Soloists stands for this motto and was founded in 1978 with the aim of promoting young, talented soloists from all over the world through high-class yet affordable master classes. Since then, every year about 40 young artists benefit from the training by internationally leading professors. Since April 2023 I have been working as a project manager for IMAS. Once a year, in autumn, we organize an academy in Bückeburg Castle with four master classes, a festive final concert and theme-related activities. I am responsible for the organization and smooth running of the academy week, for the planning of the additional activities, as well as for the communication with students and lecturers. In addition, I represent the academy to the outside world, with the goal of inspiring participants, concertgoers and sponsors for the idea of IMAS.
